The REC is a collaboration between Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine’s Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Craig Rehabilitation Hospital.

The mission of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is to educate health professionals and researchers using the highest professional standards; to prepare clinicians to practice the highest standard patient-centered medicine; and to identify and answer fundamental questions in the mechanisms, prevention and treatment of health conditions.

Craig Hospital advocates for and provides exceptional patient and family centered care for those affected by spinal cord and brain injury. Together we bravely strive for optimal health, independence, and life quality.

Acknowledgements and Partners

Thanks to William Miller, PhD and Steve Rollnick, PhD who created a MI culture of generosity and sharing that has been carried on by Charles Bombardier, PhD and others in the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. This has led to widespread distribution of educational materials which inspired and have been included or adapted in the REC materials.

Thanks to our colleagues and patient partners who provide expertise and talent in developing REC videos and resources:
